Harcus Parker

Harcus Parker is a commercial litigation law firm that specialises in bringing and defending complex claims, often involving large groups of claimants. The firm’s partners have fought for the rights of consumers, pensioners, shareholders and the victims of financial mis-selling. In 2019 the firm was recognised by The Times newspaper as one of the Best Law Firms of the year in respect of three of the firm’s group action claims.

Harcus Parker is currently working on behalf of mortgage prisoners. Mortgage prisoners are people who have been trapped paying punitively high interest rates (often at the standard variable rate or ‘SVR’) as a result of being unable to re-mortgage because their lender either became an inactive lender, or transferred their mortgage to an inactive lender (i.e. a lender who does not offer new mortgage products). Harcus Parker are investigating claims on behalf of borrowers who hold  (or held) mortgages with any of the following lenders: Northern Rock, Bradford and Bingley, UCB Home Loans, Engage Credit, Heliodor Mortgages, Landmark Mortgages, Mortgage Agency Services Number Five (MAS No. 5), Mortgage Express, Rosolite Mortgages, The Mortgage Business, UCB Home Loans, or Whistletree.

On behalf of its clients, Harcus Parker intends to claim the difference between the very high rates claimants have been charged and the fair rate which should have been charged. In some cases the sums claimed will be significant.

Harcus Parker are acting on a form of 'no-win, no-fee' agreement. This means that there are no up-front costs to members of the group action. If the claims are successful, Harcus Parker will take a percentage of any damages awarded towards their fees, and the other costs of bringing the litigation.
