The UK Mortgage Prisoners look to have a busy week this week in its campaign efforts to free people who are trapped by their mortgages. Today lead campaigners will meet with the FCA to discuss solutions that will help all mortgage prisoners. That is followed by a meeting with the Universal Union on the 11th for more of the same. On Wednesday 13th, Kevin Hollinrake MP will meet with the campaign group to discuss the next steps in securing debates. Kevin has been an invaluable champion of the campaign and has vocalised his concerns on many occasions in the media and in parliament. The meeting follows calls from MPs this weekend that the City watchdog help free mortgage prisoners. On Thursday there will be a crucial meting between UK Mortgage Prisoners, the FCA, Heather Buchanan (APPG Fair Banking) and MPs Kevin Hollinrake and Seema Malhotra – Chair of the APPG Mortgage Prisoners. This will put pressure on the Treasury to step up and act given UK Finance and the FCA now say it is over to them to find a solution. The week ends with two meetings on Friday. Campaigners will meet with the Cooperative Bank to discuss mortgage prisoners who are held in their inactive arms – MAS no. 1-7 – to see how those who are trapped on interest rates of 6% can be helped. There is also a meeting on Friday that brings together some rather remarkable individuals who have the resources and aptitude to deliver practical solutions to the mortgage prisoner situation.

Check in throughout the week for updates on the meetings!
