Rachel Neale has written to Ian Hares, UKAR, to request that the government-owned bank show compassion over greed during these difficult financial times. While many, yet again, are enjoying record low interest rates in the UK, to help them through another crisis, mortgage prisoners are trapped on crippling rates. The Prime Minister recently admitted that it was wrong to bail out the banks over people, yet still mortgage prisoners are being exploited by the government who profiteer from their misery. Many of our members are also Key Workers, risking their own health and that of their families through this pandemic. Yet they do so with the never ending burden of having to pay two and three times the market rate. Enough is enough! This needs to stop!
